SureCare, the provider of personal care in the home, has launched a low-cost micro-franchise, SureCare Local to offer a range of home services from DIY jobs and gardening to cleaning and babysitting. SureCare Local franchises are from only £7,000 for a territory with a population of 100,000. Unlike SureCare’s conventional services, which are regulated by the Care Quality Commission, the micro-franchise services avoid having to be regulated. Leading pizza franchise, Papa John’s, has announced the opening of its new Durham store. As well as Durham, Papa John’s new franchisee and ex-army major, Dan Wilkinson, has also recently taken over two stores in Liverpool and aims to open a further 10-20 new Papa John’s outlets in the North and Scotland over the next few years. “I joined the Irish guards when I was 19.
