Manor Park’s staff and pupils profit from sport premium funding

Pupils from Manor Park Primary School, Aston in Birmingham have teamed with Premier Sport as part of the Government’s sport premium funding initiative. The school is working in collaboration with Premier Sport this school year to improve the quality of its Physical Education curriculum. Coach Nathaniel Gordon from Premier Sport works with classes from across the school. Coach Gordon leads the first lesson with school staff supporting the delivery. School Staff then lead the second lesson, where they concentrate on reinforcing and extending skills and the children’s knowledge and enjoyment of Physical Education. A school in Newcastle Upon Tyne which was placed into ‘special measures’ five years ago has turned a corner after being judged ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted inspectors. Throckley Primary School received the ‘outstanding’ grade across all four Ofsted categories including achievement of pupils, quality of teaching, behaviour and safety of pupils and leadership and management.
