Business Service Management And Why It’s Important
According to the 2011 edition of ITIL, Business service management is ‘the management of business services delivered to business customers.’
BSM is important as it is a strategy for aligning the business’ operations in tune with its customers, for a positive outcome. This strategy is commonly used within an information and communications technology (ICT) environment.
Through this strategy customers may have an input on the services of the business. This is crucial if a business is to understand and meet the requirements of its customers.
There can be tools within software offered to customers that support BSM. These tools can allow the customer to have an influence on the business’ services that are offered to the customer. This can be useful if the software is undergoing changes, carried out by the business. The business can use this user feedback to influence the services offered to the customer.
